Daily's Methylfolate (Vitamin B9): Methylfolate is the active form of vitamin B9, most often sold as folic acid. Folic acid is the oxidized form of folate and must be converted by reductions by the dihydrofolate reductase enzyme before it can act as a vitamin. This appears to be a slow process and sometimes incomplete in humans. Therefore, methylfolate is much more available as an active vitamin and may be used in lower doses. An excellent dietary source of folate is green leafy vegetables (foliage) as the name suggests. Methylfolate tablets can be easily swallowed or chewed and provide an excellent quality supplemental form of folate. One tablet provides L-Methylfolate 400 mcg.
