Daily Eye-Vite2™ is a protective formula for the eyes based on the AREDS 2 research and adding Billberry extact and Gamma-aminobutyric acid. Eye-Vite2™ combines the most important nutrients at the optimal dosages for maintaining visual health. Lutein and Zeaxanthin are pigments and anti-oxidants that protect the macula of the eye. People with low macular density of these pigments have been shown to be at increased risk of macular degeneration. Gamma-aminobutyric acid (GABA) is an important neurotransmitter that has been shown to improve visual function as well as cognitive and motor function. Bilberry extract and vitamin E are important antioxidants and have been shown to protect against oxidative damage to the eyes. Zinc is an important mineral for healing, and vitamin A has been shown to protect against vision loss in adults and is known as the “eye vitamin” since it is essential to good vision.
